Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at D.P. Vipra College was established in 1992 with undergraduate courses, while postgraduate programs began in 2001.The department is dedicated to quality education, scientific learning, and research development in various fields of chemistry. A research laboratory was established in 2016 to promote innovation and advanced research activities under the guidance of experienced faculty members. Research areas include Environmental Chemistry, Material Science, Computational Chemistry, Green Chemistry, Nanotechnology, and Sustainable Chemical Processes.

The department is equipped with modern instruments such as UV/Visible Double Beam Spectrophotometer, Flame Photometer, Muffle Furnace, and Water Analyzer Kit. Faculty members have published research papers in reputed journals and received research grants that strengthened academic and laboratory infrastructure. The department encourages seminars, workshops, interdisciplinary learning, project-based education, and collaborations with research institutions and industries. Through teaching, practical training, and research-oriented activities, the department continuously strives for academic excellence and professional development of students and scholars.
